Characters!!

Randal Ivory is the main character of RanFren, he is the little brother of Luther, Sebastian is his pet. Randal is ageless but is 15 as of lucid 3, but we also have designs of him at 17 and 25 in a character age meme. His birthday is three days long, from October 7th-9th. Randal isn't human, he is a cryptid, he gets more powerful on Halloween, and even more on Day Of The Dead. He is able to heal, especially when he is in his coffin because of the reduced light. (so if I locked him in a dark room would it be the same? Who knows). Randal likes his dolls, chaos, his pet Sebastian, knives, people watching, scaring people, making all sorts of friends, Neopets and other pet sims, the night, dreaming, haunting and exploring places, Jesus, nosebleeds, horror movies, Katy Perry, and tight spaces. He has very few friends, he has like. a one sided friendship with Sebastian, he is friends with Satoru Tsukada who exists in his dreams, Scarecrow Kid, and Micheal (kind of/in theory more or less). Some other things he can do are; dreamwalking (ability to leave the barriers of one's own mind while asleep. It allows the dreamwalker to enter someone else's dream), distort his body to some extent, bend reality, and dark magic. He wants to kill the rich (slay king, based) and walk through walls. hH likes drawing too, having his own art page (my favourite drawing is the jesus one), he also likes Digimon, his favourite is Renamon. He likes to go on late night walks, he likes the street lights. One time he turned into a furby.

Luther Von Ivory is Randals older brother; Nyon, Nyen, and Nana are his pets. He was born in 1445, and is 579 years old. He is human, but he also has magic, rejuvination properties, and is able to contort his body in certain ways (like turning his head 180 degrees like an owl). His magic/rejuvination properties also seem to radiate to everyone else around him (like Nyon, where its mentioned that because he has been around him for so long that he also has fast rejuvination speed). Luther has no eyelids, so to emote he uses post-it notes, or if he's getting dressed up (as seen in Lucid 11 'Haunted House') he will put on fake eyelids. A notable part of his design are his rings (seen best in the above-left image), I like to headcannon that he wears the rings because he has arthritis. Luther also carries a handgun on him, named Rick. When you look at him, he wants you to think of the 60s, please do. Other abilities/skills he has are; light teleportation, cooking, bargain hunting, and haircutting. Luther likes his family, cleaning and decorating his house, Christmas, the German language, hosting, some video games (maybe like stardew valley? thats just a personal headcannon), Cats (1998 vhs movie), thinking, holes, haircutting, living, and people watching. Luther is a very caring person, making sure that everyone is fed and is properly hydrated, that Randal has had his naps, and that everyone is getting along. He loves his family very much. He is a very moral person, as seen in 'Getting Political', where when Randal wants to kill the rich, Luther points out how that will only perpetuate a cycle of violence, and how will Randal determine who is rich? That is, until Randal says it's okay to kill rich people now. He also says that it's bad to eat people, however in Lucid 4 it does seem like Luther was going to cook human for Sebastian, until the guy turned out to be alive. Luther is the author of all the character pages except for Sebastians page which is written by Randal. I know that the character pages (except Sebastian) are written by Luther because of this note under lucid 10 werewoof, written by Luther, which has the same style of writting as the character pages. speaking on lucid 10, Luther has these blush marks under his eyes- those however are not just blush marks, theyre a second set of eyes! as seen here.

Nyon is Luther's pet catman, he is one of two catmen and is the first one Luther got. Nyon is Russian and likes Dostoevsky. Before Nyon was... well, Nyon, he was a different person, with a different name and face that has been lost to time, along with his age. We could assume he's old though considering he likes Dostoevsky because of "nostalgic reasons". Nyon also seems to like Russian music, as seen in this one image. Nyon is able to recover quickly because of how long hes been around Luther, as mentioned before. This ability can compare to Randals, if Nyon is not in his coffin it could take a long while for him to recover. He is also pretty durable. Other abilities Nyon has are; vanishing in one spot, adaptable, watching any kind of tv, and he is able to make small bombs. Nyon likes his master Luther, technology, relaxing, tissues, pickled veggies, and smoking weed. He also likes Tamagotchis, he got one from Luther as seen in Tmagoochi. in this video we can also hear Nyons voice. Nyon doesnt like ghosts or loud noises. Nyon is generally pretty soft-spoken and shy, but if hes in the right mood he could chill out and smoke with someone. Despite being soft-spoken and shy however, he would do anything for his master. It's unclear if Nyons hat is actually a hat or are his ears, as hes never been seen without it and he seems to be able to move them like ears. They're also stretchy in the same way that peoples body parts in RanFren seem to be. Nyon also has a tail, attached to his jeans, as seen above. It's also unclear entirely what is up with this tail. If its a fake sewn on tail, or an actual part of his body. If you were to ask me? I think his hat are his ears and the jean tail holds his actual tail inside, if that makes sense. Nyons hair is usually shown to be light blue but it is said that depending on the day his hair may be blue, green, or teal.

Nyen is Luther's second catman, some people headcannon him as Russian like Nyon but this is pretty unlikely imo, he's probably American. Nyen was also a different person before becoming Nyen, he was a normal person and very different apparently. He was likely christian or born to a christian family with a biblical name like Michael, Andrew, or Jacob; as mentioned on his character page. Nyen is likely younger than Nyon because he is newer to the house, however like Nyon, his age is lost. Nyen thinks quite highly of himself because of the abilities he has gained from Luther and him no longer being really human. Speaking of abilities and skills, he is able to finish things if not interuppted, able to go into a "sleeping state" (just. sleeping??), he can beat things in his own nightmares, he has low-level rejuvination (less than Nyon & Randal likely), and can see perfectly in the dark. Nyen likes his master Luther, watching Judge Judy, Kurt Cobain/Nirvana, beer, killing, cutting sounds, Terry Pratchet novels, romance manga, chicken, gummy candy cola bottles, Diana Ross, doing labourous jobs, and black coffee! His favourite things to terrorize/kill are mice, rats, bugs, Nyon, Sebastian, and anyone Luther wants him to target!! When he kills things he wears an eyemask thing, Nyon also has one of these. He's afraid of vacuum cleaners and he doesnt like sour things, escalators, coyotemen, or when people dont flush. Nyen doesn't really like talking to people, or people in general from what I've seen, he doesnt talk much in general. He generally wears a black sweater/shirt that says NEVADA on it, (I was honestly kind of worried that this was a referance to Nevada-Chan but this doesnt seem to be the case), Luther got it for him from a thrift store (he doesn't admit this though and says he got it from his favourite victim) and the N has come off once before in the ratman lucids. The shirt also occasionally says other things, especially in fanart, I remember one saying Nirvana specifically. Like Nyon, Nyen wears a hat but Nyens has come off before, however I don't think I've actusally seen this in the comic, Nyen hides snacks under his hat sometimes. Depending on the day and light level Nyens hair may look more pink, it is said here that it may even appear to have patterns. Nyen is shown with stubble sometimes but no one really draws it in the fanart though. It's cannon that Luther shaves Nyen.

Sebastian is Randal's pet human, he was a gift from Luther for Randals 15th birthday. It's unknown what kind of life Sebastian had before being adopted, but some people think his name was Lucas though. he was human, but because he was like. disconnected from his body and put into a hotdog prison and then given a different human body to inhabit but i think he has the same head so hes not really human anymore. and his proximity to luther definiately hasnt helped. Sebastian is generally nervous- you would be too if you were kidnapped. dont get me wrong however- hes not really a pushover, he has fought back against Randal, not so much Luther though. hes also tried to escape, multiple times- which has made him put into a metal knight-pillbug suit and a hotdog. hes pretty afraid of nyen considering nyen has literally attacked him before. sebastians main goal through the story is to escape, however luther or randal always find him. Sebastian has very few, if any positive relationships in the household. Randal literally owns him, Luther is... Luther, and Nyen generally hates him. and because sebastian is not allowed to leave he doesnt have any friends. im not sure if theyve really interacted much in cannon but it think nyon and sebastian could get along, considering how generally passive nyon is. carpet kitty too maybe but i also dont know anything about her. him and the ratmen didnt really interact from what i can rememeber, and i have feeling that him and satoru arent going to get along. sebastian is also so on edge and in danger that we dont really ever get to see what he likes from what i remember, to be fair i dont find him too interesting so. he also doesnt really have any abilites- randal says that hes good at running, but. yk.
